about
I'm ashamed to admit that the words "human trafficking" and "sex slavery" didn't used to affect me.
It took a dream - a nightmare I should say - to change that. I dreamed about girl who lived in a world of abuse and slavery. The dream felt so real… she was so real.
When I woke up, my heart and soul felt so heavy and broken. I sobbed uncontrollably on my Dad's shoulder for a long time.
I'm not capable of feeling such compassion. I am not that good. I believe God shared a part of His heart with me, His love towards His children who are being sexually exploited and enslaved.
I wrote a song about my experience. It's called "Golden Coins". You can find the lyrics below. You can also download it. There is an option to purchase this song. 100% of the proceeds will go to Destiny Rescue, a non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing people from human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
lyrics
GOLDEN COINS
I dreamed about a girl
She lives in a different world
And it’s hard for me to think about it.
I always knew of these things
But never felt until that morning
Now it’s hard to even speak about it.
This isn’t me, these tears are not my own
I can not mourn, the one I’ve never know
I saw, and in the morning I awoke
And I felt His heart, for a lost soul.
Ooo, I was never meant for you
Never meant for golden coins.
I was meant for something more
Something here untold
I was never meant for golden coins.
He said, “Oh my darling lets see what you can do
You better worth my coins...
Honey cause I paid for you
You better be worth my coins”
Her eyes closed, her mind closed
And her soul screamed into my...
Heart closed, and my eyes closed
When her soul screamed into my dream.
